Information for albums

for most of my imported albums the available information (Qobuz) does not show. If I add the album as a favorite in Qobuz i can retrieve the info, but i don;t want to clutter my library with duplicates.
This may be difficult to map but will keep Sense as a second rate app until available to those of us interested in the artists.

Would it be possible to allow a choice between the discogs art and the art available via Qobuz based on title and artist. I find that the Qobuz version is of a higher if not print quality and often has larger dimensions.

Merging some similarly themed requests on metadata integration from Qobuz.
The issue here is that Qobuz is a streaming service, not a metadata outsourcer. We currently do not have the rights/permissions to take their data and apply it to files outside of their service.
Hypothetically if we had those rights, the metadata would require an always-online connection to work with metadata on demand as we would not be able to save it to the internal innuOS library database, which we can do with our current provider. The other issue is that this would rely heavily on a fairly perfect system for 'matching' albums between your local files and the Qobuz equivalent.
One of the leading metadata providers is Tivo, but such is the cost of that service that we could not implement this for free, and would basically require a subscription payment model which is why it can be associated with services structured that way (Tidal, Roon).
This is not something we want to do with Sense, but nonetheless do understand the interest for better metadata solutions so is certainly something for our longer term consideration.

The other topic raised with this is the question of library duplicates between local files and Qobuz saved favourites. Perhaps a feature where we can identify duplicates and give the user a choice to prioritise either local or Qobuz, then hiding the unwanted one, would work?

I would be ok with needing to be online to see the metadata....as you surely must be aware roon manages this and when the albums don't match perfectly there is a feature to manually match the albums to the roon data. sorry to be a broken record here about roon (no pun intended :)) but just being honest that this is a major pull away from using sense. and yes a feature to allow one to hide duplicates (or not as user prefers) would be nice.
We are paying for Tidal or Qobuz and thus have rights to the info so not sure how this is a problem....obviously wouldn't be able to provide the metadata for non-subscribers without some fee.

If signed in to Qobuz, pull Qobuz album info/artist info on "i" button for locally stored albums

Hi, there actually two points here worth discussing:

1. Matching data with TIDAL/Qobuz for locally stored music
2. Showing TIDAL/Qobuz Favorites within the local album so they don't see them as "duplicates" on the album list.

Both of them have their own merit. Let us analyse this and we'll propose separate features - I'll merge this request on the resulting item.

why is this functionality still not working? this seems basic and is never a problem with Roon. Most of my albums have no associated info - this makes sense a second place app compared to roon for those of us interested in the artists.

Yes! My locally stored songs do not pull over album info...no problems with favorites that i have brought to server from qobuz but the majority of my music i own and there is no album info. I am surprised that more people haven't complained about this already...this is a major functionality of Roon
