Good morning, I would like to point out an inconvenience that makes listening to podcasts from radio stations problematic. The progress bar is missing in Sense so you cannot stop listening and then resume it from that point. Nor look for a particular point in the podcast, et cetera. Can anything be done? Thank you.

Hi, I found a workaround for podcasts without this issue but with another app : feedback.innuos.com/b/feature-requests/podcast-subscrition/edit_comment/0554b4a514018ad478a870ad5ef800c55c74c9cf040c4b3738bab85759ef0661/

I read on the Innuos website:“Please bear in mind that any change to the default Innuos LMS server settings or plugins may degrade the performance, break or render your server inoperable. Please refrain to change any other settings or plugins other than those documented on Innuos Support KB knowledge base articles or advised by us. Any other settings or plugin changes are not supported at all and you should be able to manage and revert them by yourself. Thank you”. That’s why I’m afraid to mess with the streamer software. I will wait for Innuos to resolve the issue.

Thank you for the detailed outline of the workaround you have tried, this is interesting. How have you found its performance so far, is it working okay? If it is satisfactory then we may add this to our official knowledgebase.
Personally speaking, i am not sure how best suited podcasts are to our products. Whilst i understand they are a modern extension of talk radio, we are in the speciality of music delivery, not podcasts, and i think there is a subtle distinction to be made there. I would sooner have us remove the facility completely than try to build upon it, as that could possibly tidy up the overall Radio search facilities that are currently quite mixed up with podcasts.

If Christophe has found this workaround is quite satisfactory, then i would say in this case you could try this solution for yourself.

Hello Stephen,
yes with the squeezer application, the podcasts are well managed.
But in my humble opinion, I believe that it would be a mistake not to include this management of podcasts in Sense because I believe that many of us use our hi-fi system not only for music but also for listening to the radio podcasts (my wife in particular). Especially since LMS does it correctly, it would be enough to add a separate radio menu and allow the addition of a podcast by its URL, as the LMS podcast plugin does.
If this is not in your plans, I agree with you: it is better to remove podcast management rather than leave it as it currently exists.

The commitment to music is brilliant but the reality is that the business you’re in is “streaming” not music. If you offer a streamer that was just about music then you’d have declined the options around BBC Sounds etc.

I am no fan of podcasts but if not offered then it will cease to matter how good the music offer is. If you build a streamer then trying to limit what is streamed is really going to diminish the market for your products.

Hi Mike, we do still consider Radio a massive part of the music realm and BBC Sounds was part of that; it gave better navigation (and sound quality) of the BBC music station; any podcasts etc were a nice bonus.
It is not so much about purposefully limiting what is available, but we must prioritise what we spend time developing. The time fleshing out a decent podcast facility could have been spent working on Tidal Connect, or Idagio for classical users, or Apple Airplay (just as examples) - services with wider appeal and more directly connected to music. Coincidentally, Airplay would probably be the much better solution for streaming podcasts through our devices but we would of course need a solution for Android users too.

Hi, the problem is solved for me. I configured AirPlay playback in the system's Logitech Internal Media Server and now I manage my podcasts perfectly through iPhone and Pulsar. Thank you.

Hello,
After a few moments, I saw my favorite podcast episode appear in the radio favorites. Too bad it's mixed up with the radios.
I also found a workaround to manage podcasts correctly:
1) open the internal LMS and install the podcast plugin developed by Logitech.
2) in the settings of this plugin, add all the desired podcast streams and validate
3) install the android squeezer application and enter the ip address of the innuos server
4) go to the "my apps" menu then in "podcasts" and all the streams will be present.
5) just click on one of them to start reading on the innuos server.
(There is no progress bar issue with squeezer unlike sense).
6) it is possible to place a shortcut to your favorite shows on the squeezer home page using a long press on the show.

Thus, thanks to squeezer, you can perfectly manage and read your podcasts on the Innuos server. The LMS engine can do this. It remains to adapt the sense application...

I hope for big improvements regarding the management of podcasts because it is unusable in practice.
Unless I'm doing something wrong:
1) finding your podcast through a search is laborious and I can't find everything (French radios).
2) impossible to favorite a show (not an episode). So do we have to do a search again to find the new episodes?
3) if I favorite an episode, I don't know where to find it later without doing a search again (it's not in the "music" menu). What are podcast favorites for?

It would be so nice to add a "podcast url" button in the radio menu, like it's done with "radio url"!
Thanks for your feedback.
Greetings

It would be nice to be able to add our own choice of podcast within Innuos Sens application. Many thanks if more people find this interesting. Best regards
