I just upgraded from a Bluesound Node to a Pulse mini. The sound quality of the Pulse mini is much better, but I would even be happier if the Pulse mini could read files from a usb pen drive!
Me too. I downloaded some free test stuff from HighResAudio to see how they sounded, but the PULSEmini cannot read the files. And there are four inputs so it would be great if one could read a USB pen drive.
Hi Stephen
For me, and I think for many Pulse owners, it would be sufficient to temporarily plug in a USB pen and be able to browse (folder navigation) and play from within the Sense app.
More than that would not be necessary.
We will understand if quality will not be the same, but as I experience with other streamers, probably it will works well.
Thanks
Could you outline your case usage on this, such as if you are adding a USB drive to a PULSE, or just temporarily playing music from a friends drive onto a ZEN, etc?
Do be aware we have not supported this function to date because the amount of noise this places on the USB subsystem is quite severe, so sound quality does suffer.
If we were to implement, would it be sufficient that through the Sense app you get a basic 'Folder Navigation' view to go and find the files and play them? It is very unlikely we could offer the full library integration, streaming service associations, artist bios, data management etc that you get from the full innuOS experience.
