Just switched to this new Sense-app from Roon and I believe the sound quality of the new software is really good. But having a lot of albums - mostly from Qobuz - in my library, I really do miss sorting features in the library.
Are You considering this?

On current 2.4.1 software you can sort by Album, Artist, Date Added, and Release date (descending new -> old).

Except that you cannot sort the results of a search: for example if I select the albums where Johan Sebastian Bach is the composer (this is now rather simple thanks to recent changes), I still cannot sort the over 100 albums and I cannot even figure in which order they appear. Adding the above menu to search results would be very, very, very useful...

Should we keep this open or create a separate issue to focus specifically on sorting search results?

That already exists here;

OK, I transferred my comments to that thread then.

That is a nice feature but not available in Qobuz in either artist or albums. It is only available in Sense favorites

This appears to been added with v 2.4.0, though oddly you can only sort in one direction - date ascending. If you, like me, mostly play recently added and recently released albums, then you have to scroll to the bottom to find them.

Would love this added option to Sort playlists and songs alphabetically to facilitate easier editing. Thanks

ahm
I agree, whenever I use Search for Bach, the 130 albums don't appear by alphabetical order though it´s how I classify them in my library. It would be nice to have them ordered

When I look at albums with Johann Sebastian Bach as composer, I have no idea in which order the albums are sorted: it is not alphabetical and does not seem to be by artist either. So I have over 100 albums showing up in random order... Not practical. Please add sorting options: ideally I could chose by Album name, by conductor, by Album Artist, date etc

When I come back after some time to find a favourite artist, album or track in Qobuz, I find it easier to first use the 'Sort by added date' option in the Qobuz app, just to remind me of what I'm looking for. Could this option be replicated in Sense, at least for favourite Qobuz artists and tracks, as I appreciate that 'New Music' serves a similar purpose for albums?

I found that specific sorting feature in Roon very useful for the exact same reasons - and I really miss it in Sense.
I am still on the "commit entirely to Sense"-path, as I think the SQ in Sense is clearly better, but I really miss out of some of Roons usability strengths 🧐😁

+1 for Sense-ibility😁. I'm trying not to be tempted by Roon, and satisfying myself with just one streaming subscription. Despite a free trial my head has a problem with paying for a separate service to, essentially, organise my own music! I'm hoping Sense will evolve (natively) over time to make Roon even less relevant for me. Qobuz has just notified me of a price REDUCTION👍 (here in the UK).

Hi Nuno
Coming from Roon I miss the possibilities of sorting albums by album name, performer, composer and e.g. date added. These are very useful parameters when browsing your library. And likewise for composers.
These possibilities are not covered by the current filtering - which in case is an actual filtering and not a sorting mechanism.
I hope that clarifies my requests 😁

Hi Torben,
The search functionality on the app is actually quite powerful to get what you want right away, as well as having filters to narrow down your library to sources, formats or genres. If this doesn't fit your needs to navigate your library, can you let me know more in detail the use cases you have in mind?
guardajoias
The search and filters are indeed powerful. But the filters are not yet available in Artist view, and searching and browsing are different. Searching assumes you are looking for something you know. Browsing allows you to go through your library and find something you may not remember. More flexibility inn sorting and filtering would be great. No need to change the interface which is great, but just adding filters to Artist view, ideally with ways to further narrow search through multiple filters or even negative filters, plus additional sort criteria when sorting would do it.... A lot of work I am sure but very helpful if possible
