Please add ability to stream to Airplay devices, or include a local player in Innuos Sense that could then to sent to Airplay devices

I've gone the WiiM Pro Plus route using the optical cable between the Innuos and WiiM works well transmitting Airplay to any room

Interesting, although of course the best solution would still be to be able to stream to Airplay directly as for UPnP. Here, optical cable connection works only for the Zen mini I think… so this would not work for Zen or Zenith, or am I missing something? Maybe it is also possible to use Ethernet to output from Innuos to WiiM? Also, in this setup can you control the music with Innuos Sense or do you have to use the Wiim app? Thanks.

I read that WiiM is a UPnP renderer so will be visible as such by Innuos Sense… So should work with all Innuos devices…. The question then is how to select the AirPlay speaker. Maybe this has to be done in WiiM app…

Actually, better yet i believe that the WiiM actually has native Squeezelite support, so it should automatically appear as a Squeeze zone to play to via Sense, without Airplay or UPnP:

Yes indeed, I see that. Good to know. This being said, the only reason I would buy the WiiM would be for this, so it is a $250 solution to stream to Airplay, and requires going through both Innuos Sense to play the music and the WiiM app to select the actual device... I still hope you can add the ability to stream to AirPlay directly from Innuos Sense

Your correct in assuming I have a Zen Mini and I agree the best solution would be to stream directly.
I don't know what connections the other Innuos servers have, I picked the Mini because it had good connectability
The Innuos Sense only works the Zen Mini which is wired to my main HiFi Amp through the Mini's DAC, it's the WiiM that can see all the Airplay receivers on the network
It's not the ideal setup, it's more a messy compromise but I wasn't prepared to change my beloved HiFi of many years, it's so easy to listen to and at the end of the day that's what it is all about

It is not in active development at the moment; there is an LMS plugin that may offer this but would not be the basis of an official implementation. It remains an interesting feature however so remain open to it.

With 2.5 behind you, this would be a nice feature to implement. Being able to send music to UPnP players works very nicely. If you could do just the same thing for Airplay (i.e. using the Innuos Sense interface to send music to Airplay devices) it would be very useful. Until then, we have to open iPeng and play something from iPeng to then see the iPeng player on Innuos, then airplay from the iPhone to the speakers... Clumsy).

There is a 3rd Party Airplay Plugin for LMS that does enable this scenario. We will need to test it though and check if we can integrate the setup on innuOS as a first step.

Innuos can now be an Airplay receiver allowing one to send music over Airplay to Innuos. However, what is till needed is streaming from the Innuos player TO Airplay DACs and speakers i.e. allowing Airplay devices to be seen as squeezebox players like the iPeng internal player... Currently for example, the only way to send music from my Innuos library to HomePods for example is to turn iPeng on with local player on my iPhone, to use a second device to access Innuos and select the iPhone as output, play the music and from the iPhone and select the HomePod as speakers. Same would apply to an Airplay DAC. Of course, my primary system is output by USB from Innuos, but being able to send the music to other speakers as well as I could do with ipeng would be very useful.

Definitely not DONE, for streaming TO Airplay... What is implemented is making Innuos an Airplay receiver allowing one to send music over Airplay to Innuos. Streaming TO Airplay is allowing Airplay devices to be seen as squeezebox players like the iPeng internal player... I hope this can also be implemented. Thank you in advance!

It says DONE, but is it Stream TO Airplay (the ability to send music to Airplay devices such as HomePods or Airplay enabled DACs, or is it the Stream FROM Airplay that was implemented in 2.1 (making the Innuos an Airplay-enabled receiver) ? Stream TO Airpaly was the original request above, but then others requested the Stream FROM Airplay below...

We need a more stable and reliable solution to streaming from Airplay devices to Innuos; the current Shairtunes2 plugin is often unstable and not well integrated into the Innuos environment.

Hi, we've been looking into this and it's possible to enable a plugin on Logitech Media Server than would allow the existing players connected to play via Airplay. We plan to provide some instructions on how to enable this soon as well as a small modification on Sense to allow showing the track data/cover and allow to search for that track on global search to match on streaming services you have configured, for example. Do note that Airplay activation will have to be done by users directly on LMS.

Nuno, Thank you so much for providing the instructions for, and enabling Sense to allow, AirPlay. I set it up today and it's working great. No issues so far! I am very much enjoying the mixes provided by my PlexAmp app. It sounds so much better via AirPlay to my Innuos Zen than through my AppleTV (via the same external DAC). However, still not a good as playing natively from InnuOS Sense. Keep up the great work!
