Hi, I don't manage to set the volume bar cursor precisely with my finger. I would prefer + and - buttons.

Thank you for introducing the volume +/- buttons! This was very welcome, but still seems not to be foolproof. Maybe I am the only one, but it already happened twice to me, and every time my family freaked out. The closing box (X) for volume control is very close to the plus (+) button and max of the volume slider. Although my thumb is not big, I accidentally increased volume to 100%, while I instead intended to press plus (+). The Devialet Phantoms I own are capable of earth shattering sound levels. I can tell you this is not a fun experience. Maybe a slight tweak in the UI could help prevent such a mishap? The slider seems to move to the point where I touch (target volume). It would be safer if the current position must be touched and then moved to the target.
Hopefully you mean enabling the phone's physical volume buttons, which will default and revert to controlling Sense whenever the app is running, except when another audio source is actively playing on the phone, or a phone call is incoming in which case pressing a volume key should silence the ringer.
The feature we are testing now is adding a + and - option along with the volume slider bar for those that want a more precise level and 'tapping' rather than 'sliding'.
the physical buttons would be much easier to handle on an iphone (from a consumer point of view). would be great, if this would work in the future too.
On the grounds of health and safety, please add this request as soon as possible. When trying to fine control slider bar, it is very easy to accidentally engage full volume. This does not do my health any good. Temporary deafness and possible cardiac arrest. As from a safety point of view, people outside can no longer temporarily hear the warning sounds of commercial vehicles reversing. I almost forgot to mention the effect on local wildlife and my neighbours. 😥
So please incorporate this update, on a great product, as soon as possible. Thank you.
The volume bar and/or buttons should completely disappear when used as a pure music server, I would really only understand the volume adjustment when using the internal DAC. There should be a selector in settings to enable volume or leave it fixed. Also we don't know how the volume adjustment within the digital realm of the Pulse affects the quality.
My personal preference is a combination of a slider bar (visual confirmation of the volume level) and +/- buttons on the touchscreen, linked to the volume buttons on the side of your smartphone.
Just wondering if there is going to be a response from Innuos re this request other than under review? It is clear that the slider control is unwieldy and leads to massive changes in volume. Is it infeasible to add +/- buttons? If this is the answer, then I won’t need to keep checking back on this thread every month or so…
Thanks
I agree would be really nice to have. In addition to that, the slider often gets inadvertently selected as a text on my iPad. I guess it is has something to do with the webcoding. Feels a bit awkward.
totally agree to the unconvenience of slider, it's hard to precisely adjust the volume. I unintentionally changed the volume almost to max, poor ui element. Even better than a +/- button would be a rotary button (see Linn app or Lumin)
The slider control has led to me inadvertently deafening the family! It’s the only thing that’s stopping me using the Sense app to control streaming on my Naim Uniti star because overall the sense app is better for searching my music on the Zen mini mk3. A choice of slider vs up and down buttons would be great
Thanks
Could there be an alternative volume control on the Innuos Sense? The slider button can be difficult to control accurately so would it be possible to have + and - buttons as well?
Thanks
Paul
I agree that the existing volume control is not the easiest to manage. May I suggest that using phone volume control buttons might be the most effective way of solving this problem?
Hi Karen, if you suggest to do this improvement to the apps then yes I agree. If you are asking me whether the phone buttons are working fine then Im afraid they don't. I am using an android tablet and an iPhone and to me the volume buttons are not reliable, they don't always work.
Hi Ludo, it's a suggestion, yes - I used to use Orange Squeeze and the use of the phone buttons makes changing the volume a piece of cake. With the Innuos app on my phone they don't work at all, but I'd like to see that in the next upgrade.
Hi, Im always struggling to set the volume on both iPhone and Android tablet. Moving the cursor is not easy. Couldn't we have '-' and '+' buttons or equivalent?

There was some confusion with topics, so the 'Physical Buttons' thread is over on this topic here;

over the physical buttons on the iphone and when the screen is in locked mode too, would be great!

Definitely must have especially for phone/ipad devices, given the UI is pretty much all CSS/SVG style

Having buttons would also make the volume control compatible with certain Naim servers
