Cloud Service to allow managing music library remotely

N
Nuno Vitorino

This service would enable to sync the library with a cloud service provided by Innuos that would allow you to browse and edit your music library anywhere. Do note this would not include playing music from the server, it's for viewing/editing purposes only.

I think that music collectors / consumers need a tool that encompasses all the information and albums that we have. I propose the idea, taking into account that Innuos sense is beginning its way, of being able to agglutinate through “Xml”, “CSV”, or whatever the programmers consider convenient, the physical collection of CD’s, LP’s within the Innuos Sense environment.

I find it very useful to keep a list of all the albums stored on the Zenith but making the list is currently a right palaver. It would be great if the details shown in the App could be downloaded as a text or csv file which could then be sorted etc

Would it possible to add the possibility of printing out all the titles stored in an Innuos mini?
Thank you,

Merged with: Export DB (text) information to downloadable file

Hi, it would be **very** useful to be able to get all - or at least a sensible subset - of the text information on the InnuOS DB, in order to save our wallets and not buy more copies of albums we already own (I would carry that info on my mobile phone).

Hi, this is covered in a similar post of "Cloud Service to allow managing music library remotely" so I will merge this request into that one, which is currently 'Planned' in our development status.

Merged with: Export to CSV (or another similar format)

P

PAF

It would be nice to be able to export the "relevant" InnuOS DB information (album name and associated metadata - artist et al.) to a popular format such as CSV. That would enable us to keep our physical CDs sync'ed with the ripped versions and, e.g., search that (Google/...)sheet at the store and refrain from buying yet another copy of the same CD :-)

P

PAF

I had not spotted that it was already considered, so I posted a similar request today. please remove it :-)

That would be a positive benefit especially with playlists

This feature would allow you to browse your music library to check what albums you have anywhere you want, even if your server is turned off and you're outside your home. The use case is to enable checking what music you have already when purchasing music or showing a particular album and sharing links with your friends, for example. The applications here can be quite extensive. This would be based on syncing your music library database to our cloud server.

This could be in line with this feature:

feedback.innuos.com/b/feature-requests/browse-your-music-collection-offline/

I'll merge this request there

Very useful just to know which cd's you already have when buying in a store

Great addition. I too have occasionally made the same mistake as David mentioned below.

David

I like browsing old as well as new CDs and have more than once bought a CD I already have because of a different cover. It would be useful to be able to download key metadata to provide a readily available and reviewable off-line listing of albums. This would also be useful for insurance purposes.

N

Nuno Vitorino

Hi David, what you mean is eventually being able to browse the music collection when you're offline or away from home correct?

D

David

Hi Nuno. Many thanks for responding.
In answer to your question, yes - I find it helpful to remind myself of the albums I have when offline or away from home when browsing or searching in record stores. I also think it potentially helpful, given the investment in albums, to be able to provide information for insurance purposes should the worst happen.
I have created a workaround but it has been and is a real palaver: 1/ Scan the music folders using 'ListFolder' on Mac 2/ Convert the resulting pdf to a spreadsheet 3/ Format and edit the spreadsheet to produce a workable list 4/ Keep the list up to date when I add new albums etc.
As this is to all intents and purposes producing a listing of the stored files by artist and album, I would hope this could be generated directly from the app/web-page.
I trust the above helps. Please let me know if I can help further. Kind regards. David Robson

Would be very useful as when I am not home, I do not have a way to check what I have in my server…

Totally agree. Very useful!

or if it is easier to implement, be able to "download" the database on the device to be able to see what is in the library offline. For example, I am outside and want to see if I have a certain recording without having to be at home...

M

Mickyrock

Another option would be to combine Innuos sense with a database like Music Collectorz. It could be interesting for both parties ... I think ...

Is there a way to access the app when not in range of the Innuos server (which would enable me to curate my music library when not in range, which is a fun way to pass the time sometimes.)
